TICAD 30th Anniversary Event ＜TICAD’s 30-year History and Prospects＞

1. On 26 August, TICAD 30th anniversary event will be held in Tokyo from 2 pm to 6 pm (Japan Standard Time. EAT: 8 am to 12 noon.). The event will review the past TICAD events and discuss future Africa-Japan relations. TICAD was launched in 1993 and the year 2023 will mark its 30th anniversary. 

 

2. More specifically, the event will be comprised of three sessions, namely, “30 years of TICAD”, “Changes in TICAD, from aid to private investment”, and “The future of TICAD”. Parliamentarians, members of the media, international organisations, members of the African diplomatic missions in Tokyo, and representatives from private companies and NGOs will participate as panelists.
